Blimey

It's been a year now since I last posted on here, unbelievable. I had sort of forgotten all about it, and as usual, I am making all sort of promises to myself that from now on I shall keep going with this and try and blog at least once a week, probably won't happen, I'll more than likely forget, or as is more likely, nothing much exciting will happen negating the need or desire to post anyway.
However, I'm here now so a quick update, not a lot has happened. There, see. I'm still a postman, I still live in the same village in the same part of England, and am still happily married with the same teenage daughter, although she is now very much a young woman, last year of high school coming up, with all that that entails.
Perhaps the most exciting things that have happened to me over the last year, and as a disclaimer, these aren't particularly exciting, just exciting compared to doing absolutely nothing, I have been to London a few times, Wooooo! I hear you say, but you know, I love London and every trip there is an adventure, recently, well Saturday actually, we went with our best friend to see 'Billy Elliot' the musical and I have to say, I'm not a big fan of musical theatre, but I loved it, the whole day was good actually, had a great breakfast in a cafe on Regent street, a quick jaunt around the national gallery and the national portrait gallery and then a saunter down to the theatre stopping for a quick beer on the way. after the show, we headed back to 'central' London and found a really great all you can eat chinese buffet on Shaftesbury avenue, £6.50 each! Lovely. Anyway, that's about as exciting as it gets for me, I have a lot of photos to put up of various things, which I will get round to, maybe later tonight.

At last

Finally, Spring has sprung, well almost. It's certainly been a lot warmer and sunnier the last couple of days, which is great for me as being a postie and outdoors most of the day it's fairly important to me that it's a reasonable kind of day.

Brrrrrrr!!

Will this cold spell ever end? I can't remember it being so cold and miserable for as long an amount of time, ever.
Now I know that in some parts of the world that there are months at a time where it's snow and ice and minus 100 etc etc, but this is England, at most in recent memory we get 1 or 2 days of snow a few weeks of cold weather but generally, it's just dull dull dull. This has gone on far too long now.
Still, salvation is just around the corner, the clocks go forward in a couple of weeks, it'll be light later into the evening and that's generally a sign that the warmer weather is just around the corner, excellent, Barbecues, cold beers in the garden, evening walks around the heath and through the woods, and most excitingly, the chance to get out and about with the camera. I'm definitely not a winter person, so, I haven't done much the last few weeks.

Hate

Sometimes, I just hate the internet, I'm sitting here, bored, nothing seems to be connecting properly, even my ps3 won't connect to the psn properly, keeps signing me out after a minute or 2, I suppose it would normally be the perfect opportunity to do something else, but it's cold outside and wet, and to be honest, I just can't be bothered :) SO, I shall just sit here instead and be bored, safe in the knowledge that at leat tonight, I shall have a nice time for I am going to a very nice pub/restaurant for a xmas meal.
None of that usual xmas fair for me though, can't be doing with turkey so I'm going the fish route, should be very good:)

Hurrah

Well it turned up, 2 hours late but it got here, lovely. It's a cooker I know but I think I love it.

The wait

Come on! I'm waiting for my new cooker to arrive, it should have been here 4 minutes ago, still no sign. What to do while I wait? Look for a recipe to cook on it while I wait I suppose, what to cook though? I want to give it a proper christening, maybe a nice steak? More likely I shall just break it in with a decent bacon and mushroom sandwich, not exciting I know, but it is 10 in the morning, steak might be a bit much this early.
